A small project I’ve been working on in my spare time has been re-editing old movie scenes and adapting modern special effects over them. This clip, titled Sally Dibbs is from Rainman, Raymond who suffers from autistic behaviors spends the night before memorizing the phone book up to the letter G. He is able to instantly remember the waitresses phone number and recite to her the next morning.
I’ve edited over a small overlay which shows a photographic memory view of the name and number within the phone book, as these are small tests and experiments this is one which I don’t like personally but will also be left in to view a public reaction to a small difference. I hope in the future that I can showcase these experiments to an audience and record their reactions to see what works and what doesn’t.
This site compares director cuts and theater releases very well and a full insight to the difference a few cuts can be within certain television shows and movies.
